From the munchkin
Hi, mommy's friends. Wyatt here.
I wanted to say hi and thank you for welcoming me into the world. Mommy said you're all wonderful and had been such a big help to her as she was growing me.
Things have been a bit difficult over here. My doctors say I'm perfectly healthy… for a 37 weeker. I stayed in mommy's belly as long as I could, but I was just so eager to come out. Wait until you hear just how quickly I came!
I'm a little jaundiced, have a very hard time feeding, and I can't stay awake no matter what tricks my mommy, daddy, and grandparents use to wake me. Catching me with my eyes open is a treat. I'm such a stubborn little guy. I lost a little more weight than I should have so far, but I'm a fighter. I've been trying so hard to learn how to feed, and mommy thinks I'll be packing on the ounces soon.
Mommy can't wait to share my birth story with you. She's hoping to have it ready in a few days. Until then, I'm going back to what I do best. Good night!

Awww, what a cutie! I’m sure he will get the hang of feeding in no time! Lactation consultants were my best friends in the hospital after giving birth to Maya–I must have met with one 3-4 times! I hope everything works out with feeding and the jaundice goes away soon!

awwww – he is beautiful!
Not sure exactly what the feeding problem is, but if he is falling asleep, have someone hold ice wrapped in a dish towel against the bottom of his feet to keep him awake (we had to do that with his nephew). Also make sure he is not to warm and cozy when BF (again, it will just make him fall asleep). I am sure you have already heard these tips but wanted to pass them on just in case.

Absolutely perfect and adorable
! My sister had her 1st son 3 weeks early and he was tired all the time and had difficulty feeding as well. I hope he gets the hang of eating soon!

He is so beautiful Jen! That last photo is the most precious thing!! I’m sorry you’re having some issues with feeding but hopefully he’ll start packing on some pounds soon.

He is beautiful! My little girl was only a week early but she was also very sleepy and had feeding issues and lost a little too much weight the first week (her weight was in the 10th percentile). It was very frustrating and I took it hard but try not to get discouraged!!!! After the first week and a half she was doing great and by her 2 month doc appointment she was in the 98th percentile for weight! You and Wyatt will be great and breast feeding is well worth it so keep it up!
