The final pregnancy update: Week 37
Guess where I am?
And I almost called it!
I'm in shock that I'm going to have a baby so soon. I never would have guessed I'd go into labor today, but it's happening.
Things I've learned in the past 24 hours:
- "Nesting" may not mean you clean and organize. Instead, it may present as an intense urge to bake a chocolate chip cake late one Monday night.
- Not all first time moms go past their due dates.
- When your water breaks, it may be bloody instead of clear.
- Labor won't necessarily start on its own if your water breaks.
- If you need to be induced, the start of labor will be really boring. I know I'll miss this part in a few hours!
- You may pull your first all-nighter at the age of 29… and be looking forward to it.

I had tears in my eyes when you announced your pregnancy and here I am blurry-eyed again. I don’t even know you and I am so beyond happy and excited for you! Good luck! I have been through childbirth three times, and each time it was a different journey, but the same wonderful ending. There is nothing like holding your child in your arms for the first time. You’ll be fantastic!

What a great post to read as I sit here nursing my 4 wk old son at 4 am. The time flies by so do your best to soak it all in. They grow way too fast!

After all you had to go through to get to this point, I don’t think his birthday could have been on a better day…to have him actually here for Thanksgiving is so symbolic of your journey!

Hi Jen! Congrats!! I stumbled upon your blog via Caitlin. I am really really happy for you esp after reading your struggles with getting pregnant. My husband just got diagnosed with this scientific term that means his sperm count and motility is very very low. At this point our only option is IVF or ICSI… I’m very scared. I was wondering how did you cope with your emotions besides blogging. My husband requested that I not share this info with ppl we know, only our parents will be informed. It’s the first day after hearing the news and not sure how to handle this… Thank you and thank you for sharing good baby news!!!
