Loyalty

Not puppy-human loyalty, though I firmly believe that's the best kind :)

I am a marketer's dream. Once I find something I like, I stick with it forever and I never give their competitors a chance.

I cannot tell you what pair of Brooks Adrenalines I'm on, but it's approaching 30. These shoes are seriously like pillows on my feet. What's more, they're made by an awesome company who is cool enough to sponsor regular runners like me to run for them.

When it comes to coffee, my heart belongs to Dunkin. And it has since my high school days when I used to cut class for iced coffees. Sorry Starbucks, I'll enjoy the lattes, but your coffee is sub-par.

And yes, I'm still drinking pumpkin coffee in February. I may have hoarded 8 bags of this stuff when it was on the shelves...

A new obsession of mine- and I think every other Charlotte blogger- is the spectacular restaurant Cowfish. They have amazing, creative menu items, excellent customer service, and a fun atmosphere.

I ran 10 miles with Lauren yesterday morning before she had to travel home :( It was my longest run in 5 weeks, so I was beyond starving all day. Thankfully, I had big plans with Diana, Michelle and those boys we married at Cowfish.

I inhaled my salad, sweet potato fries, and turkey burger covered in brie, apple, and cranberry. And now I wish I saved leftovers.

What brands are you loyal to? I have unexplained devotions to Secret deodorant, Paul Mitchell hair products, and Gap jeans. My husband has 8 pairs of Oakley sunglasses and refuses to wear anything else.

There are also a few companies I loathe. But that's more based on bad memories. If you worked on a foodborne outbreak involving peanut butter for weeks of your life, you may not be so fond of a certain manufacturer either ;)

  1. Brooks Adrenalines are the best! Been wearing them for 10 years now. I’m also partial to Nike tempo track shorts, I can’t wear anything else!

  2. I can’t believe you’ve had OVER 30 pairs of Brooks Adrenalines!! Insane!!

Haha I’m not very loyal at all! I use different stuff all the time, and have Brooks, Asics and Saucony shoes, and love them all! :P

  3. I don’t have very many brand loyalties; I’m open to trying new things.

But, I’m a Dunkin’ girl, too. Starbucks is good for the fancy drinks, but I never drink their regular coffee. Blech.

  4. I love Folger’s coffee – I won’t buy anything else! I’m also loyal to Bob’s Red Mill products – they are fantastic!

  5. I didn’t know Brooks sponsored you to run! That’s really cool!! I’ve heard people rave about their Brooks running shoes but I’m loyal to my Asics. I’ve never run in Brooks and at this point I’m way to afraid to mix it up…so I’ll probably stick with my Asics till the end. I’m also loyal to Dunkies but only for iced coffee. I’m sorry, but I think their hot stuff is just sub-par. It’s so watered down and never tastes fresh….at least not up here. I’m convinced the whole chain is going downhill (haha). Annnnyway (sorry for that tangent!)…it’s weird how there are some things I stick to loyally and then others where I try a new kind every time I’m at the store (like I always use the same hair gel but then buy different shampoos/conditioners).

Congrats again on the double digits yesterday! I loved running with you!! :)

    • Omg, I agree on your DD conclusion. I only buy the iced coffee at the store, and brew my own hot coffee at home. Too funny!

I loved running with you, too! Come back!

  6. You and your dog are precious! I think I’m a marketer’s dream too – nice packaging and a good ad can definitely convince me ;)
I hardly ever steer away from Aasics for shoes, Aveeno for shampoo and lotion, Teddie for peanut butter, Gap for clothing, Bare Minerals for make-up…and we tend to give business to the same local restaurants!

  7. I’m loyal to Gap jeans too! And OPI nail polish, FreezeIt hairspray (liquid concrete for your hair…awesome) and Extra gum.

Oh, and if I am in the mood for a sweet treat I am 100% loyal to Sonic’s diet vanilla cokes. :) Cute post, Jen.

    ~Laura

  8. I’m loyal to the Gap outlet, Tone’s Southwest Seasoning, and Asics 2100 running shoes. <—Random

  9. Oh my gosh that burger looks AND sounds amazing!!!! WOW! :0))

  10. I’m a die hard Nike fan, I guess it just depends what fits best eh? I used to be a loyal user of OB tampons till I got my diva cup! (good thing since there is a shortage now) Also stick to biolage hair products and clinique makup!

  11. Secret deodorant. My husband uses it too. Haha.

I’m also a fan of Crest toothpaste.

  12. I love that you love Dunkin’!!! My company does their advertising and I edit a lot of their commercials! So fun. The Pumpkin spice is awesome!

I’m brand loyal to ascics, poland springs, coffeemate creamer, arnold bread and anything apple : )

    Looks like a fun weekend!

  13. I’m all about Saucony sneaks, have been wearing them since my freshman year in high school. Also brand loyal to poland spring, skippy and ACT mouthwash.

Also DD for coffee. I go every morning before work and my guy knows me and I now don’t even have to order. Love him :)

  14. I am a marketers dream to. Once they reel me in, I’m very loyal. I can’t run in anything, but Brooks and love the new Adrenaline 11s (and how cool that you are sponsored!). I also stay very loyal to Teddie PB, Bare Minerals makeup, Gap jeans…I could go on! It’s funny that so many of us have the same favorites :)

  15. I’m fairly brand loyal, but I’ll try something new if I can get a really good deal. However, 95% of my clothes are probably from 3 stores.

  16. i wore brooks adrenalines for YEARS, until someone pried me off them and into the asics i currently wear. but i still miss those brooks, my feet remember how they felt! also, i agree about puppy loyalty…just something about those furry friends. :)

  17. I am actually not extremely brand loyal on most things…especially toiletries and home goods. I usually just buy whatever I can get the best deal on. I definitely have preferences on food brands but usually I’m okay with several different brands and just go with what’s on sale.

All that said, I am also extremely loyal to my Brooks Adrenalines. I tried to stray once and returned the other shoes within two days and went back to the Adrenalines! :)

  18. I’m the same way with my Mizuno wave alchemys! Til death do us part I’ll keep running in those babies.

  19. I hear you on secret deoderant!
I can’t really think of anything right now besides Toyota. My family has several, my dad drives a 4 runner, my sister drives a highlander, her husband drives a 4runner, and hubby and I both drive them. (I know you do too! :) ) good cars, never had problems.

  20. I am loyal to Brook’s Adrenalines as well. I ran 26.2 in them yesterday and my feet felt great! I feel like they are supportive yet speedy.

  21. hmmmm, honestly i have a hard time being loyal to anything it seems…i have run in mizunos, brooks, adidas, even some diadoras… i do love tropicana and silk :)

  22. I just have to say that it was SO GREAT meeting you last night!!!!! Can’t wait to hang out again :)
